siberiaThe details are finalised and we’re looking forward to our next Shoot and Meet on 8th December

Details are on our website at:

http://www.princedavidlodge.org.uk/event/december-2016-shoot-and-meeting/

Long Siberia is a great shooting ground, with a wide selection of stands (although I do not yet know which ones the organiser has chosen for us, he is keeping that a closely guarded secret so I can’t go and practice them beforehand!) from rabbits, fast low incoming grouse simulations to a very high tower called Big Ben

newsletter

At our last committee meeting it was decided that a regular e-mail newsletter should be sent out to help keep members and friends up-to-date with shooting and PDL related events. Particularly as there seem to be a lot of them and receiving many different invitations can get confusing

I know I’ve mixed up a couple of events in my diary and ended up in the right place but on the day of a different shoot

Muggins here was voted on to do this (I was late to the meeting, it is my own fault!) and here is the first of them. I hope you find it useful

Fantastic news – Surrey have been chosen to host the National Masonic Clay Shooting Competition 2018!

It is official, we received the notification ”I am very pleased to inform you that Surrey has won the ballot to host the 2018 National Masonic Clay shooting Competition” earlier this week

Lots of details need to be worked out, finalise dates etc, but the team is already forming and working on more details on the plan to host the shoot at Bisley, the home of clay pigeon shooting

More details will be published as we get them confirmed but watch this space with huge anticipation as we all are

We will be working to make the 2018 National Clay Shoot a day/weekend to remember and a highlight of the Province of Surrey 2019 Festival

Sky customers will be taken exclusively behind the scenes of the world’s oldest social network later this year with a new four-part documentary;Inside The Freemasons
Coming to Sky 1 this winter, the documentary features the most in-depth look ever at the Freemasons in the run up to its 300th anniversary in 2017 and discovers the truth behind the ancient rituals and closely-guarded
practices of this membership organisation
With footage of Freemason ceremonies, never seen before on television, Inside The Freemasons uses unprecedented access to the United Grand Lodge of England and its Lodges all over the country to
introduce viewers to members of the comradely order as it approaches its tercentenary next year
Produced by Emporium Productions, Inside the Freemasons will discover what it really means to be a Freemason in 2016. Viewers will learn the truth behind legends such as the regalia, the jewels, the handshakes and the symbolic working tools as they get to know Masons from all walks of life.

Siobhan Mulholland, Commissioning Editor, Sky Factual said: “With over 200,000 members across England and Wales, the Freemasons is a fascinating organisation that the general public don’t really know much about. We can’t wait to use this unique access to show Sky customers the real Freemasons as we look at little known history and traditions, determining myth from truth.”

Emma Read, executive producer for Emporium Productions, said: “We’re thrilled to have been given such unprecedented access to the hidden world of the Freemasons to make a documentary series. Most people are familiar with Freemasons as an organisation, but few actually know who they are, what ‘Lodge life’ is really like and why men join in the 21st Century.” John Hamill, Director, Special Projects at the United Grand Lodge of England, said, “As we approach our Tercentenary it is fitting that we mark this auspicious occasion by very openly sharing a look at who we are, what we do and what we stand for. We hope the programme will help inform, educate and even surprise, providing a genuine insight and understanding into Freemasonry and Freemasons
today.”
